- Entries for the International Competition are open until January 18, 2019

Call for entries for the 20th Jeonju International Film Festival’s (Jeonju IFF) International Competition opens on December 3, 2018 and closes on January 18, 2019.

The Jeonju IFF has actively introduced films with an independent, experimental and free spirit and filmmakers who search for the possibility of a new aesthetic style and technology in contemporary films to the Korean audience.

The International Competition accepts any form of feature films including fictions, animations, documentaries and experimental films. Entries must have a minimum pre-condition of Asian Premiere, which means the film has not been presented in any Asian countries and won’t be before the festival is held. Moreover, the film must be the first or the second feature of the filmmaker. Entries that has been made after January 2018 are only qualified.

Selections are scheduled to be announced in March 2019. The selected films will be screened at the 20th Jeonju IFF which will be held from May 2 to May 11, 2019. A total of three awards, The Grand Prize, the Best Picture Prize and the Special Jury Prize, will be given in the International Competition. The winner of the Grand Prize will receive a cash award of 20 million KRW and a trophy. The winners of the Best Picture Prize and the Special Jury Prize will receive a cash award of 10 million KRW and a trophy.
