As we turn the final page of 2025, we look back on a year shaped by meaningful encounters and shared moments with you.
Through our Special Focus: Possible Cinemas, we explored urgent questions of our time together. From Vancouver to Hungary, Korean independent films reached global audiences, creating moments of connection that crossed borders and resonated deeply.
Looking ahead to 2026, we’re excited to continue this journey by presenting the vitality of Korean cinema through upcoming touring programs at BOZAR (Centre for Fine Arts, Brussels) and ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts, London).
Distinctly JEONJU. Always Beyond the Frame.
We look forward to meeting you again in 2026 with bolder visions and new questions.

The deadline is approaching fast! Submit your film to the International Competition before January 19, 2026.
✔️This year, we’re introducing a few updates: - You can now submit via FilmFreeway or Festhome - A processing fee of USD 30 per film will be applied.

Wednesday, November 26, 2025 - Monday, January 19, 2026
📍Eligibility
The entries must meet every requirement as below.
- Director’s first or second feature-length film
- Running time: Longer than 40 minutes length (including credits)
- Date of completion: After January 2025
- Premiere status: At least Asian premiere
(For films made in Asian countries, the exception is granted if it hasn’t been screened in an Asian country other than the home country.)

🎬Radu JUDE Meets Korean Audiences with Kontinental ’25
|
|
|
On December 28, a Q&A session with director Radu JUDE was held at Cinematheque Seoul Art Cinema. Moderated by JEONJU IFF programmer Sung MOON, the event drew a full house despite the cold winter weather.
Following the screening, audiences engaged in a thoughtful conversation with Radu JUDE via video call, exploring the ideas and questions behind Kontinental ’25. Awarded the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay at the 2025 Berlinale and selected as the opening film of the 26th JEONJU IFF, the film was released in Korea on November 19 and continues to meet audiences through the end of the year.
It was a meaningful evening that brought 2025 to a close, revisiting the question, “What times are we living in?”
