The 16th Jeonju International Film Festival unveils Opening Ceremony guests!

- A number of stars will attend Opening Ceremony, including actor KIM Woobin, MOON Sori, RYU Deokhwan, LEE Junghyun and KIM Saeron

- KIM Dong-wan and LIM Sung-min will be hosting at Jeonju Sports Stadium at 6:00pm, Thursday, April 30

The 16th Jeonju International Film Festival (Jeonju IFF) unveils the guests of Opening Ceremony which will be held at 6:00pm, Thursday, April 30. At the red carpet ceremony starting from 6:00pm at Jeonju Sports Stadium, Jeonju star KIM Woobin, ‘International Competition’ jury and director, actor MOON Sori, actor/director RYU Deokhwan, and actor LEE Junghyun, KIM Saeron, KIM Hyang-gi, Soy, and BAEK Sunghyun will attend.

KIM Woobin has lived for a long time in Jeonju, and expressed the desire to visit Jeonju IFF. He will show up at red carpet ceremony with director LEE Byeong-heon and his colleagues LEE Yoobi, JUNG Somin from his recent youth film Twenty which had 3 million box-office hit. Director LEE Byeong-heon was invited to ‘Korean Competition’ of the 14th Jeonju IFF with his debut film Cheer up Mr. LEE.

Actor-to-directors MOON Sori, RYU Deokhwan, and LEE Junghyun who came back as actor will also grace the event with their presence. MOON Sori has been appointed as one of ‘International Competition’ juries this year which also include domestic/international actors, directors and programmers such as Jessica HAUSNER, ZHANG Lu, Vangelis MOURIKIS, and Kate TAYLOR. She has been invited to ‘Korea Cinemascape’ with her second short The Running Actress as well. Actor RYU Deokhwan also attends the event as director of short film Informality, having ‘Talk Class’ at May 1 where young directors share their filmmaking experiences. Actor/singer LEE Junghyun has starred at Alice in Earnestland(AHN Goocjin) of ‘Korean Competition’, which recorded sold-out at all screening times.

The visit of main leads from KBS 1TV special short drama Snowy Road, KIM Saeron, KIM Hyang-gi and KIM Young-ok will also receive great attention. Interesting point is that the youngest child stars among domestic guests, KIM Saeron and KIM Hyang-gi will walk along with the oldest actor KIM Young-ok. Among other noticeable guests are actor KIM Taehoon and PARK Sodam from Snow Paths(KIM Heejung) (one of ‘Jeonju Cinema Project 2015’), actor LEE Sunho and KIM Bora from Samnye(LEE Hyun-jung) (another ‘JCP 2015’), actor Soy from Like a French Film(SHIN Younshick), and actor BAEK Sunghyun from Speed(LEE Sangwoo).

Red carpet ceremony will start at 6:00pm, followed by Opening Ceremony with two hosts, KIM Dong-wan who is an actor as well as a member of dance group ‘Shinhwa’ and actor/announcer LIM Sung-min at 7:00pm. After Opening Ceremony, Opening Film Partisan(Ariel KLEIMAN) will be screened. Tickets for both Opening Ceremony and Opening Film can be purchased at Jeonju IFF’s official website(http://eng.jiff.or.kr) and an on-site ticket office of Jeonju Lounge on the very day. The 16th Jeonju IFF wil run from Thursday, April 30 to Saturday, May 9, for 10 days.
