Count down on the 16th Jeonju International Film Festival!

- Start with Red Carpet Ceremony at 6:00pm on April 30

- A number of domestic/International actors and directors will attend, including KIM Woobin, MOON Sori, LEE Junghyun and Ariel KLEIMAN

Opening Ceremony of the 16th Jeonju International Film Festival (Jeonju IFF) will be held in Jeonju Sports Stadium at 6:00pm, Thursday, April 30. In the afternoon of the day before the event, all the staffs and volunteers had final rehearsal, increasing expectations of domestic/international cineastes and visiting audiences. On Opening Day, Red Carpet Ceremony will begin at 6:00pm, followed by Opening Ceremony at 7:00pm. From 8:00pm, Opening Film Partisan(Ariel KLEIMAN) will be screened.

Among the Korean guests who will attend Red Carpet and Opening Ceremony are Jeonju star KIM Woomin, ‘International Competition’ Jury and director of The Running Actress MOON Sori, actor RYU Deokhwan who has been invited as director of Informality, main female character from Alice in Earnestland LEE Junghyun, and actors KIM Saeron, KIM Hyang-gi, Soy and BAEK Sunghyun. Among international guests are Vangelis MOURIKIS who has been invited as both actor for ‘Greek Special Program’ and ‘International Competition’ jury, Jessica HAUSNER, and director Ariel KLEIMAN and main lead Jeremy CHABRIEL of Opening Film Partisan.

Actor/singer KIM Dong-wan and actor/announcer LIM Sung-min will host the Opening Ceremony where Chairman of Organizing Committee KIM Seung-soo will deliver congratulatory message and declare the opening of the feast, followed by introduction of 14 jury members for ‘International Competition’, ‘Korean Competition’, ‘Korean Competition For Shorts’ and ‘NETPAC Prize’. Then, congratulatory message from Festival Director KO Suk-man, introduction of Opening Film, and greetings from its director and actor will proceed. Opening Film Partisan, which will be screened from 8:00pm after Opening Ceremony, was developed through Sundance Institute, covering the story of a boy who gets changed as he witnesses the bare face of violent world.

After Opening Day, festival will get underway to May 9, total for 10 days, mainly at Cinema Street, CGV Jeonju Hyoja, and Jeonju Sports Stadium which is Outdoor Screening Venue. Especially at Jeonju Sports Stadium filled with 4,000 seats, people can see 6 different outdoor screening films at 8:00pm every day, from May 1 to 6. At Awards Day, May 6, the last outdoor screening film Like a French Film will be screened after Awards Ceremony. 2,000 free tickets for the movie will be distributed with maximum 2 per person, at ticket offices in Jeonju Square on Cinema Street and Jeonju Lounge in Jeonju Sports Stadium, from 9:00am on that day.
