Opening Film Press Conference of the 16th Jeonju International Film Festival was held!

- 4,000 seats all sold-out, proving high attention even before Opening Ceremony begins
The 16th Jeonju International Film Festival held Opening Film Press Conference at 1:00pm on Thursday, April 30. At the press conference held at Jeonju Digital Independent Cinema, 4F of Jeonju Cinema Complex, on Cinema Street in Gosa-dong, Jeonju, director Ariel KELIMAN, co-writer and production designer Sarah CYNGLER, main lead Jeremy CHABRIEL, Jeonju IFF Festival Director KO Suk-man and utive programmer KIM Young-jin attended.
Following press preview at 1:00pm, press conference took place at 2:50pm. Festival Director KO Suk-man highly complimented director, saying “Ariel KLEIMAN is such a promising director that his feature debut has been chosen to open international film festival.” Ariel KLEIMAN, the promising director in Australia who is receiving great attention from around the world expressed his feelings, “I’m very honored to introduce my film to prestigious film festival in Korea.”
Partisan tells the story about a boy, Alexander who has been raised as killer in a strange community facing the bare face of the violent world. This film attracted many people as it won Cinematography Award in World Cinema Dramatic Competition at Sundance Film Festival 2015. This year at Jeonju IFF, even before it opens on April 30, it proved high popularity as 4,000 seats were all sold-out.
After the press conference ended, Red Carpet Ceremony was held at Outdoor Screening Venue in Jeonju Sports Stadium from 6:00pm, followed by Opening Ceremony at 7:00pm. Domestic/International figures in film industry attended to celebrate its 16th edition, including movie starts such as KIM Woobin, MOON Sori, LEE Junghyun and RYU Deokhwan. The 16th Jeonju IFF will run from Thursday, April 30 to Saturday, May 9, for 10 days.
