Jeonju International Film Festival announced LEE Choong-jik as its new Festival director

The Organizing Committee of Jeonju International Film Festival held the appointment ceremony for the newly-appointed festival director of Jeonju IFF at the city hall of Jeonju on August 3rd. The ceremony, attended by city officials and festival personnel, started with KIM Seung-su, the chairman of the committee having LEE Choong-jik sworn into office with the presentation of the appointment letter.

In response to the chairman´s expression of his expectations for the new festival director who was "highly recommended by both film industry personnel and members of local community", LEE Choong-jik pledged to do his best to live up to the expectations and to "maintain and further strengthen the great reputation of Jeonju IFF among the audiences and local residents."

LEE Choong-jik holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Film Studies from Chung-Ang University, Korea alongside a degree in Film Directing from Ecole Superieur de Realisation Audio-Visuelle, France. He formerly filled various posts in academic and industrial fields, including the chairman of Korean Film Council, the festival director of Seoul Independent Film Festival, and the dean of The Graduate School of Advanced Imaging Science, Multimedia, and Film at Chung-Ang Univerity.

Jeonju IFF will be led by the newly-appointed festival director LEE Choong-jik for the next three years.
