All three films of ‘Jeonju Cinema Project 2016’ (JCP 2016) of the 17th Jeonju International Film Festival (Jeonju IFF, Festival director LEE Choongjik) have just wrapped up their shooting and proceed to post-production. Starting from Lukas Valenta Rinner’s The Decent of twenty five dates of shooting from December 14th, of 2015 to February 14th of 2016, CHO Jae-min’s A Snowy Day of twenty five dates of shooting from January 1st to February 3rd and KIM Soo-hyun’s Great Patrioteers of eighteen dates of shooting from January 10th to February 4th all successfully finished their shooting

During a cold snap, the shooting of Great Patrioteers took place in a familiar area of Seoul such as Tapgol Park and Noryangjin. Great Patrioteers is KIM Soo-hyun’s fourth feature film in four years which he cooperated with CHO Yongkyu, the director of photography who has collaborated with renowned directors such as LEE Chang-dong, RYOO Seung-wan and KIM Tae-yong.

The Decent was shot in Buenos Aires in Argentina. ‘Palos Verdes’, a nudist club, is expected to attract the attention of the audience. Contrasting images presented by the exclusive rich village and a nudist club as well as the characters in The Decent will give an emotional and visual impact.

All scenes of A Snowy Day were shot in Goseong in Gyeonsangnam-do, where the director CHO Jae-min has spent his youth. A staff has conveyed, “All the cast and staffs have stayed in a camp during the whole shooting period, and it promoted friendly relations between the cast and staffs.” This added vividness and realism to the film, according to the film crew.

‘Jeonju Cinema Project 2016´ was conducted in expanded scale than previous years in collaboration with the various film industry principals. Executive Committee of Jeonju IFF visited shooting locations of Great Patrioteers and A Snowy Day to encourage directors, actors, and staffs of each film for their last minute filming, and closely communicate with staffs of The Decent to support its production. Lukas Valenta Rinner expressed satisfaction with the cooperation and anticipated about upcoming festival through the video clip for the audience of the 17th Jeonju IFF.

All three films will proceed to post-production and be finalized by Early April. ‘JCP 2016’ will have world premiere at the 17th Jeonju IFF, which will be held from April 28th to May 7th.
