The 17th Jeonju International Film Festival unveils Opening Ceremony guests

- April 28(Thu) at Outdoor Screening Venue, the Red carpet event will begin at 7pm

- Many stars are to attend: JUNG Jaeyoung, KIM Dongwan, HAN Yeri and many more

The 17th Jeonju International Film Festival (Jeonju IFF) unveils the guests for the Opening Ceremony which will be held at 7:00pm, April 28(Thu). This will be located in Outdoor screening venue in Cinema street. There will be many stars attending to this ceremony including our hosts for Opening Ceremony, LEE Jonghyuk and YOO Sun, JUNG Jaeyoung and HAN Yeri, juries, Junior(PARK Jinyoung), JI Woo, AHN Jaehong, KIM Dong wan, KWON Yul, JUN Hyebin, PAIK Sunghyun, HEO I-Jae, PARK Jungmin, RYU Hyunkyung and more.

The red carpet will roll out for stars such as JUNG Jaeyoung, invited as a jury for International Competition, and HAN Yeri, invited as a jury for Korean Competition for Shorts. Director OH Seungwook who was invited to the 68th Cannes International Film Festival with the actor JUNG Jaeyoung for The Shameless (2015) will also attend the ceremony. Director KIM Daewoo, well known for his film The Servant (2010) and Obsessed (2014) will attend the festival as the jury for ‘Korean Competition’. Director LEE Sujin, who has been awarded from the 43rd International Film Festival Rotterdam, will also participate in Jeonju IFF 2016 as the jury for ‘Korean Competition for Shorts’.

Actors and actresses of the films that are to be screened at the 17th Jeonju IFF will attend the festival and shine bright on the red carpet. From ‘Korean Competition’, KWON Yul from Worst Woman, JANG Hyunsung and PARK Chulmin from Curtain Call, JEON Hyebin from With or Without You in ‘Korean Competition’ section will attend. From ‘Korea Cinemascape’, many actors will visit Jeonju IFF such as OH Gwangrok and KIM Dongwan from If You Were Me, BAEK Sunghyun, SEO Shin-ae and LEE Sang-a from Bittersweet Brew, HEO E-jae and SHIM Eunjin from Woojoo’s Christmas, RYOO Hyunkyung and PARK Jungmin from The Artist: Reborn, and Director and actor AHN Jaehong from A day in the Black Hole are to be attended as well.

Regarding ‘Jeonju Cinema Project (JCP) 2016’, directors and actors will also make an appearance on the red carpet: Director KIM Su-hyun with DONGBANG Woo, KU Kyohwan and SANG Hyon from Great Patrioteers, director CHO Jaemin with Junior(PARK Jinyoung) and JI Woo from A Stray Goat, and director Lukas Valenta RINNER from The Decent.

There are special guests who will be walking down the red carpet. AHN Sungki, YE Jiwon, SHIN Dongmi, the jury for the 16th Jeonju IFF, and LEE Som who was chosen to promote ‘Cinema Angel Project’, an organization to donate movie tickets to the needy.

Moreover, many of renowned guests come from the overseas: director Robert BUDREAU and musician David BRAID of Born to be Blue, Director Philippe GRANDRIEUX and actress Roxane MESQUIDA of ‘Special Focus’, The Clan’s Pablo TRAPERO, award winning director from Venice International Film Festival, Athina Rachel TSANGARI and Deni COTE, the juries for ‘International Competition’.

The 17th Jeonju International Film Festival, with hosts LEE Jonghyuk and YOO Sun will begin by the red carpet event at 7pm April 28(Thu). At 8pm, there will be an Opening ceremony followed by Opening film screening, Born to be Blue, from 9pm.
