Count Down on the 17th Jeonju International Film Festival

- Start with Red Carpet Ceremony at 7pm on April 28(Thu)

- Awards Ceremony on May 5 and Closing Ceremony on May 7

The 17th Jeonju International Film Festival (Jeonju IFF) will be held in Outdoor Screening Venue (OCTO Parking lot) in Cinema street at 7pm, April 28(Thu). In the afternoon of the day before the event, all the staffs and volunteers had final rehearsal, increasing expectations of domestic and international cineastes and visiting audiences. On opening day, Red Carpet Ceremony will begin at 7pm, followed by Opening ceremony at 8pm. From 9pm, Opening Film Born to be Blue (Robert BUDREAU) will be screened.

At the Opening Ceremony, JUNG Jaeyoung and HAN Yeri, the juries, AHN Jaehong from A day in the Black Hole, KIM Dong-wan from If You Were Me, Junior(PARK Jinyoung) from A Stray Goat from Jeonju Cinema Project 2016 will be attending. Athina Rachel TSANGARI and Denis COTE, the juries, Robert BUDREAU and David BRAID from Born to be Blue, the opening film, will also attend the ceremony.

The Opening Ceremony will be led by LEE Jong-hyeok and YOO Sun followed by KIM Seung-soo, the chairman of organizing committee. There will be an opening performance by pop pianist, YOON Han, then fourteen juries from ‘International Competition’, ‘Korean Competition’, ‘Korean Competition for Shorts’ and ‘Netpac Awards’ will be introduced followed by festival director LEE Choongjik’s greeting. Also, Born to be Blue’s Robert BUDREAU and musician David Braid will be on the stage. Lastly, .Born to be Blue, the opening film, will be screened from 9pm.

On May 5(Thu), there will be Awards Ceremony at Jeonju IFF Stage in Jeonju IFF Lounge. At 6:30pm. This ceremony will be led by LEE Seungjoon and KIM Jiyu. Awardees and prize winners will be attending the ceremony as well as guests. One noticeable change for this year’s award is ‘Documentary Award’ which is newly added by Mercedes-Benz official dealer Jin Motors’ support.

On May 6(Fri), ‘Good Concert’ will be held at Outdoor Screening Venue at 7pm. KIM Guerim will be the MC, Crying Nut and Biuret will be guests for this concert. The Closing Ceremony will be held at 7:30pm, May 7(Sat), HWANG Seokjung and JIN Kyung will be the MC, and HA Reem will be performing to celebrate the ceremony. At 8pm, the Closing Film Die Bad: Digital Remastering (RYOO Seung-wan) will be screened. The concert and the Closing Ceremony will be free admission.
